Chattarpur temple

The Chattarpur temple is also known as Shree Adya Katyayani Shaktipeeth Mandir. As per Hindu customs, before entering the temple, it is mandatory to take off one's shoes and wash their hands and feet. The temple was established in 1974, by Baba Sant Nagpal ji, who died in 1998. His samadhi shrine lies in the premises of the Shiv-Gauri Nageshwar Mandir within the temple complex. This huge temple complex is built relatively recently and is devoted to goddess Durga. TheChattarpur temple is quite modern and impressive as far as its architecture in concerned. For the devotees of Goddess Durga, the Chattarpur temple in Delhi holds great significance. A side shrine within the main temple houses a shrine of Goddess Katyayani (Durga), which opens only during the bi-annual Navratri season, when thousands of people throng the premises for darshan. One nearby room has been made as living room with tables and chairs made in silver, and another regarded as the Shayan Kaksha, where a bed, dressing table and table are carved in silver.
